[Open] The Strangeness of the Willow

Vorek nodded, "I see... why thank you. I am quite sure that you will most certainly grow bigger and stronger yourself. And most definitely more graceful than I ever could be." The bear chuckled softly, knowing that he was clumsier than any other animal he had ever come across so far. A frown crossed his face when the fawn talked about her mother's harshness. In a very serious tone, Vorek stated, "You are not a freak, child. Your father is correct. It is an honor to be different. Differences is what helps others grow to be better versions of themselves if you surround yourself with the right people. So, no. I do not think you look strange at all.  You look beautiful, little one." It was right around that time when Vorek heard a growl and saw a lion approach them.

"Your father sounds like someone that I would have been honored to know."  The polar bear said as he kept his eyes on the lion as he grew closer. Vorek was polite and dipped his head in acknowledgment of his presence. The lion started to speak and something about the way he spoke got under Vorek's skin. His instincts were trying to tell him something. But Vorek always gave people the benefit of the doubt until they proved to be dishonorable, disrespectful, or untrustworthy. While Vorek heard the truth behind the lion's words about parents ending up hurting their young in the end, the bear did not agree that parents were not needed. He kept his mouth shut however and let the lion continue to speak. At least when the male used big words, he explained what the words meant to the fawn. That was a good thing anyway.

Vorek nodded with his deep voice replied, "Yes, there are other kingdoms. I was not entirely sure beings I am new to the area. I am Vorek Vozensky and I claimed the woods around the Cove by the lake." The polar bear looked the lion in the eyes, a very faint hint of authority and warning entered his tone, "Where I come from, caverns are dark and rocky places where one could easily make a misstep and hurt themselves. The fawn is much better suited to the woods, wouldn't you agree?"

A soft and empathetic smile appeared on Vorek’s face after the serious frown that had appeared when talking with the fawn. He lightly and very gently touched his nose to the babe’s pelt as she touched his paw for comfort. ”As are you, little one.” Vorek couldn’t help but think just how much his wife would have loved this little fawn and his cubs would have been so gentle with her. They would have adored having a little sister to play with. The thought made the bear’s heart sad for a few moments before the leader returned his full attention on the present. Now his little fawn was standing up for herself and the sadness in her heart was softly swept away by a fluttering new feeling of pride. Vorek knew that whatever happened next with his lion, he would do all he could for this little fawn.

Speaking of the lion, once again, he was subtly proving his disrespecting and dishonorable nature by not apologizing to the fawn for clearly hurting her feelings. This Satan completely disregarded and ignored half of what the fawn told him. Then the lion turned to him and made his argument about why the fawn needed to be in the caves versus the forest. While he was speaking, a leopardess made herself known and came closer to the small group of animals. Her eyes were a beautiful green color. She easily and confidently introduced herself. ”Greetings, Lady Eshe Reva of Amshu. I am Vorek Vokensky of the Kingdom of Zadia by the Cove. It is a pleasure to meet you.”

Once he properly introduced himself to the leopardess, Vorek turned his attention back to Satan. ”A fawn has no place in caverns and caves. A fawn’s rightful place is in a forests or woods with open fields available. Even with her skin being so sensitive, the shade provided by my particular woods will be more than suitable. I am not sure if you have ever seen a polar bear or if you have traveled far to reach these lands. Where I come from, the ground is cold and white, the ice is thick, and water means life. Those woods are perfectly cool and shaded enough for me to be comfortable living there. Which means that the fawn is perfectly suited to as well with no lasting effects from the sun.” Vorek allowed a growl of deep warning to enter his voice, ”You are trying to take the child out of a habitat that is perfectly suited to her.” The growl and his voice deepened even further and Vorek’s posture became one of a threatening stance with eyes meeting Satan’s red gaze directly, ”The fawn will not be safe in caverns and I will not allow her to go somewhere where she will not be safe. Not alone and not with you.”
